Bistro & Bar

Eurest operates a Bistro and Bar at the Mackay Airport. The Bistro caters for passengers and visitors alike by providing an array of hot meals, snacks, freshly made sandwiches and rolls, prepared each day on the premises.

Hot and cold drinks, confectionery and ice-cream are also available. Patrons can enjoy a meal, snack or cappuccino in the dining area provided. Alcoholic drinks may be purchased from the Bar during Bistro operating hours. The Bistro also sells postcards, newspapers, magazines and gift items. Catering for groups using the airport conference room is also available.

In November, an additional kiosk will open in the redeveloped security departure lounge

ATM

An ATM is located in the main concourse, close to the departure lounge, providing access to all major cards and banks.

Another ATM is situated at the exit near the hire car booths.

Disabled Persons Facilities

Mackay Airport, together with a local business - Shamrock Gardens Motel - has been awarded the Mackay City Council's Access Award 2002, with features such as accessibility, access within the building, ease of car parking, and toilet access, the use of appropriate and adequate signage, and the presence of a Disabled Persons Lift being contributing features.

The new Disabled Persons Lift, which assists passengers to board the aircraft, the new disability toilet facility in the departure lounge and the state-of-the-art sliding doors are all in place to contribute to a comfortable and enjoyable flying experience for disabled persons.

Observation Area

An outdoor observation area facing the apron is available for visitors to greet and meet friends and loved ones and to enjoy the outdoor, tropical climate of Mackay.

This area includes tables and chairs, and has a fish pond containing barramundi - a local delicacy and popular dish in Northern Queensland.
