Airport Car Park

Mackay Airport will introduce paid car parking on November 20 2006, giving visitors three parking options.

The options include short term, long term and covered parking.

Cars already in the short term and long term car park after the cross-over date on November 13 2006 will be issued with a ticket to exit the car park free of charge.

Revenue raised from paid car parking will assist the Mackay Port Authority in keeping pace with new security and anti-terror regulations and requirement. Funds will also be channelled into improving services and facilities at the airport.

In a bid to keep pace with unprecedented growth, the MPA has directed more than $5.5 million into expanding car parking facilities and redeveloping the security departure lounge over the past 12 months.

The new parking system has been designed to defuse complaints about people leaving their vehicles close to the main terminal for extended periods.

The MPA’s latest car park expansion program has lifted parking spaces to 629 bays. Parking fees have been benchmarked against other regional and capital city airports. Mackay Airport parking fees are listed below:
